The 6th annual benefit “Christmas in the Pines Concert” was presented on Dec. 1, 2017.
Admission at the benefit shows is by donation, with 100% of the grosss proceeds going to the participating school choirs. On the show in addition to the High Country Barbershop Chorus, were the Blue Ridge Junior High school Choir under the direction of Brian Blomstrand, the Blue Ridge High School Harmonies, under the direction of Dr. Theresa Dick, the Show Low Junior High School Concert Choir, under the directon of Jodi Flake, the Show Low High School Honor Choir, under the direction of Cynthia Whipple, and dancers from the Dance Academy, under the direction of Becky Eagle. The show finale consisted of all choirs and dancers joining in the singing of Silent Night, and Auld Lang Syne. (Photo below.)
Prior to this concert, the chorus had raised over $7000 for the school High, and Junior HIgh choirs of Pinetop, Show Low and Snowflake. This year’s concert brought in admissions donations of $1600. The Chapter Board of Directors chose to have the chorus match the public donations, then divided $3200 among the choirs. Photos of chorus director Doc Dockendorf presenting each of the choir directors with a check for $800 will be found at the bottom of this page. This brought chorus donations to over $10,000 total.

The first show pictures were captured on an iPhone by Kathy Montez, the last four by Eric Pansulla. This show environment is a difficult place due to the lighting variations, so we are very happy to have these records of the show. Thanks to both photographers! Here are the pictures:
