The 2011 Installation Dinner was held at Torreon in Show Low. Russ Young installed the 2011 officers. The guest quartet was “Daybreak” – Wes Krause, tenor; Mike Vo, lead; Lucas Snyder, baritone; Jay Ayers, bass.

The crowd was also entertained by our newest quartet “Four Wheel Drive” with Dan Lewis, tenor; John Welker, lead; John Graham, bass; Alan Beste, baritone.

Quartets At Walmart Dec 2010

Each year the chorus and quartets from the chorus travel around our area to sing Christmas carols. In 2010, there were many occurances of this type of performance. The slide show below covers the Knotty Pines, Crook’s Trail and Better Late Than Never quartets at the Show Low, AZ, Walmart on December 4. Several other chorus members showed up as well, so some singing was done as a “very large quartet” or “VLQ” as the photos will show.

Walmart was a significant sponsor of the High Country Chorus in 2010, and we deeply appreciate their support.

Crook’s Trail on the Radio

On July 15, 2010, Crook’s Trail appeared on Chris Stevens’ show on Majik 101 to sing a few songs to advertise the upcoming High Country Chorus annual show, “A Decade of Harmony.” The photographer was not identified, but we thank them for the photos and slide show below:

In Act 2, Scene 2, the chorus appears in their tuxedos for the final songs and combined performance with the featured quartet, The Saturday Evening Post.

Out 2010 Show “A Decade of Harmony” featured the then current 7th place quartet in the international barbershop organization – The Saturday Evening Post Quartet. Photos of their performance will be found in this slideshow. The quartet includes Allen Gasper, lead; Scott McCarthy, tenor; Tom Wilkie, bass; and Bobby Gray, Jr., baritone. Needless to say, they were a big hit with the White Mountains audience!

Scene 8, Sentimental Journey, concludes the photos from Act 1 of the 2010 Show. The quartet Crook’s Trail is featured singing King of the Road. Then comes Steamin’ Down the River and Sentimental Journey.

2010 Act 1 Scenes 5, 6 & 7

Act 1, scenes 5, 6 and 7 presented Denny Shankland and Ron Monette in another “Customer Service” skit, the Pine Tones as “The Pine Beatles” and the Disney’s Favorites from past shows. The Disney songs included A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes, Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da and When You Wish Upon a Star.
